Fit man out in the sun, male breast reduction model,“Gynecomastia” is a condition in men in which the breasts are swollen, enlarged, and overdeveloped. The breasts may look saggy and stretched – but beyond that, it can make you lose self-confidence and make you feel self-conscious, interfering with intimacy and putting a halt to hobbies you’ve always enjoyed, such as swimming. A male breast reduction procedure can restore your confidence and give you a whole new outlook on life.

Gynecomastia Causes

This condition is common in adolescent boys as well as older men, although it can occur in men of all ages, and it can occur in either one or both breasts. It can be hereditary or the result of obesity. It can also be caused by excessive alcohol use or certain drugs, such as antibiotics, anti-anxiety drugs, anabolic steroids, amphetamines, heroin, and marijuana. Even chemotherapy can cause this condition.

Fluctuations in hormones can also cause gynecomastia, which is why about 70% of all teenage boys have enlarged breasts. However, it can happen in older men for the same reason.

Male Breast Reduction

Fortunately, if you are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts, reduction surgery can help. Patients considering this procedure should be nonsmokers, be healthy and of normal weight, and should not have any medical conditions that might impair the healing process.

In this outpatient procedure, general anesthesia or intravenous sedation is used. Small incisions are made and breast tissue and extra skin are removed. If the case is more severe, liposuction may be used. After the procedure, the stitches will be removed within 2 weeks, and the area will be swollen and sore. Strenuous exercise should be avoided, but you can return to work after a few days. For at least a month, compression garments will have to be worn.

The swelling may take weeks to fully go down, but once the healing process is complete, the results are permanent. You’ll have the contoured, toned chest that you’ve always wanted, helping to give you the self-confidence that you may have been missing.
