Labiaplasty is a vaginal rejuvenation procedure to improve the size, shape, and appearance of the vaginal lips. The resulting boost in self-confidence and comfort is what draws most women to the procedure.

Why Do Women Have Labiaplasty?

Some women experience pain during intercourse or have problems with their labia minor “tucking in” to their vagina. Other women experience irritation when wearing undergarments or their labia is visible when wearing tight clothing.  You may notice a change in the shape and size of your labia after childbirth that makes you feel self-conscious, or even experience discomfort when sitting, riding a bike or exercising. It may simply be a desire to achieve a certain look or to improve sensation. There is no right or wrong reason for labiaplasty; it is a very personal decision.

What Can I Expect from Labiaplasty?

During your consultation, you will discuss your unique concerns and expectations with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons. They will work closely with you to develop a personalized plan for your labiaplasty. During the procedure, the incisions made will follow the natural folds and creases to minimize the appearance of scars. The excess tissue will be removed and the area will be tightened in order to achieve the look and feel you desire. Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure, and you’ll be able to go home the same day. You will need about a week to recover and you’ll need someone with you to take you home from the procedure and stay with you the first day.
