Radiesse

What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is a synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite-based injectable gel used for lip augmentation, fine lines, depressions and scar reduction. It is based on a natural substance found in the human body and is non-allergenic so a skin test does not have to be performed before treatment.
How does the treatment work?
Tiny needles inject the gel into the wrinkles or problem areas on the face. Radiesse's microspheres are suspended within a gel carrier. The gel is replaced with natural soft-tissue, providing scaffolding for tissue infiltration and growth.
What are the results?
Radiesse can either shape facial contours or smooth/deep wrinkles and lines. The final result leaves your facial features looking healthy, more youthful and fuller.
Are there any possible side effects?
There are some possible side effects including swelling, pain, itching, discoloration and bruising at the injection site.
Will there be any downtime?
There will not be any downtime, but there may be some redness, swelling, or bruising following treatment.
What are the benefits of Radiesse?
Radiesse provides immediate results, is non-allergenic, long lasting, cost effective, and there is no need to harvest skin or fat from another part of the body. Radiesse remains soft and pliable for years.
How long does a Radiesse treatment last?
Radiesse treatments take about thirty minutes.
What areas respond best to this treatment?
The areas that respond best to Radiesse are around the nose, mouth, and chin.
How does the treatment feel?
The treatment is injected through a very thin needle. Some discomfort is to be expected, but a topical anesthesia is applied to ensure comfort.
How long do the results last?
Radiesse results generally last one to two years.
Is additional treatment necessary?
Generally, only one treatment is necessary. Possible touch-up sessions can be performed every several months or few years.
Instructions for before treatment:
Tell your doctor about any allergies you have to foods, drugs or environmental elements, any serious medical conditions and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non-prescription).
