Reflexology

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology stimulates reflex areas in the hands, feet or ears that correspond to glands and organs in the body. Correct stimulation relieves stress and tension and relaxes the whole body. The purpose of Reflexology is to normalize the body's functioning, facilitate healing and revitalize total health. It also aids in blood and lymph circulation, strengthens the functioning of the immune system and calms the nervous system.
What can be expected during a Reflexology session?
As the reflex areas of your feet and hands are stimulated, you may experience some pin-prick sensations which reflect tensions in the corresponding part of your body. If the therapy is not comfortable, the amount of pressure should be decreased.
How does Reflexology help relieve stress?
Reflexology encourages the body to function better and relieves stress through lymphatic drainage, circulation, breaking down calcification between nerve pathways and muscle relaxation.
How does Reflexology correspond with the body?
The body is divided into ten zones, with five on each side of the body. Each organ or part of the body is represented in the hands or feet. The practitioner can diagnose abnormalities in the body by feeling the hands and feet. By massaging or pressing each area, the flow of energy, blood, nutrients and nerve impulses are stimulated.
